An excellent amp with Robert Lai SG 2.0 created a twist of excitement and experience, the sound brought me back to my childhood memories of sound during the golden era of Western Electric tube sound , highly recommended to those who don’t want to spend an arm and leg for a full body sound .simply loving it 🥰

Brought my Line Magnetic AS125 tube integrated amp to SG Live Acoustics for upgrade. I was able to collect the amp within a week and Robert was very helpful to cart the heavy amp all the way down to the pickup point. The amp was upgraded with high quality parts and they brought my amp to a whole new level. The sound quality improved significantly with far more realism soundstage, better clarity and vocal presence is enhanced. It felt like owning a new set of amplifier but at a fraction of the cost. Even my family member also noticed the improved sound performance and I couldn’t be happier. I have been coming here for more than 5 years. Custom made a lot of cables from power cables, interconnects, speaker cables and recently headphone cable! I decided to send my Cayin HA-300 Mk1 heaphone / speaker amplifier to Robert for an upgrade instead of purchasing a new version Mk2. After several high quality part upgrades, this amp sounds like an improved version and if I must say, better than the newer Mk2; especially better controlled bass & midrange and soundstage. Together with top quality tibes, this is just what you need to noth headfi and hifi setups !

Before the upgrades, I use the amp primarily for my ZMF Verité & Atrium Open and Focal Utopia headphones but after Robert’s upgrades, I regularly use it to drive my Klipsch Forte 4 with ease. An able alternative to my upgraded Line Magnetic LM805ia amp.

Adding SwissBox to the amp has further improved the overall SQ of the amp.

Bought a Furutech NCF UK plug to swap the US plug on my Neotech NEP-3200 from Robert. It was an overestimation on my part on the effort required to twist and squeeze those thick and stiff cables into the sockets and I had to thicken my skin to ask Robert for help. Cable came back professionally terminated but what to me showed his extra step service was how the cable was professionally packed in bubble protection vs. when I sent it to him in a mere Ikea ziplock bag. Delightful!

Robert Lai introduced me to Vera-Fi’s Snubway Noise Defender. A curious looking product that fits snugly into your power strip that the rest of your audio components are connected to. I had already read reviews on the product, and was suitably impressed by its transformative performance. Robert very kindly drooped off the Snubway at my place, and it was clear he was very excited about it! After plugging it in the first position in the powerstrip that feeds the streaming section of my system (comprising Farad PSUs for the switches, SR Router and the Cambridge 851N) a more holographic listening experience was unveiled within minutes, and this only became sweeter the next day after about 24hrs of break-in. Impressed, I contacted Robert, who kindly dropped off a second Snubway for me to experiment with.. Curious if the 2nd unit will have a similar effect on the analog section of my set-up (comprising dual mono Arcam Power Amps and Pre-Amp), I did a similar placement of the Snubway on the analog powerstrip. Unsurprisingly, there wasn’t a discernible impact in the audio, possibly because my analog section is already well conditioned by the Nordost QX4s. I then moved the 2nd Snubway to the streaming section of my set up, and the initial gains of the first Snubway simply doubled in impact! I’m now enjoying a much more clearly defined holographic audio imaging, with a deeper sense of realism in the way the music is delivered. Listening to Jazz Groove on Internet Radio (FLAC, which is like CD quality) is such pure joy! The Snubway is probably the quickest way to transform your system, and start with the streaming section first as digital components are very sensitive to electrical noise inteferences. Probably the best bang for your buck at under $400! Thanks Robert, for your sound advise and guidance

The Ferrum WANDLA GoldenSound Edition DAC is one of my best purchases for its incredible versatility. It’s the first DAC in the world that allows me to switch between a solid-state mode and tube mode giving different sound experiences. As a headphone user myself, I can really hear the significant differences in sound when switching between the different modes, allowing me to switch accordingly depending on the genre of music I’m listening to. I like that there are a total of three different modes that can be switched on, Tube Mode, Spatial Enhancement Mode and Impact+. I had so much fun using the DAC, as I can experiment with different headphones while also changing the different modes, creating a variety of combinations to play with. It’s like having two DACs for the price of one! Considering its price point, versatility and portability, it’s mind-blowing!
